the mapleleaf residence is a modern renovation of a 1930s summer cottage.
the house sat vacant for over three years before the project began. the yard was a jungle and the house was occupied by squirrels, raccoons, and a groundhog.
the original layout was compartmentalized and inefficient. the floor plans on both levels were completely redesigned to feature an open concept; including relocation of the front entry, the staircase, and the addition of a second bathroom and third bedroom.
the project's progress was documented, and can be viewed on the 5/8ths blog.
