Three things we've been focusing on the last two weeks: finishing exterior work before the weather takes a turn for the worse, painting, and tile.
It was hard to reach a consensus on paint colors, but we've finally agreed and we are pretty happy with the results so far:
Exterior doors are being accented with a color called "Margarita". Number of Margaritas consumed while working on Mapleleaf: zero, unfortunately.
The wall behind the stairs and the actual stairs themselves will be this vibrant blue color. The pictures don't really do it justice, you'll just have to come see it in person.
We painted the exposed brick chimney in the master bedroom to match the exterior; a very dark gray.
Most of the rest of the walls, the doors, and the trim will be painted a very light gray. It's called "Nuance", which I think is a pretty appropriate name.
We infilled the old "front" door and rebuilt the rotting structural wall.
More exterior work. That unpainted spot on the siding will be a window.
I made Brad do all of the crawl space work so he got back at me by making me do the attic work.
The last major component we still have to build is the deck. More on that in a later post.

First look at those wall-mounted fixtures in the upstairs bathroom I told you about in Week Three.
Tomorrow all of the light fixtures will be installed. Stay tuned; there's one we are particularly excited about.
